while the optional Day 2 covers more advanced concepts including a fully developed exercise.

WINDOW,
THERM and
OPTICS
are the current generation of energy simulation software from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA.
Together, they are the cornerstone of the
US National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC)
and the
Australian Fenestration Rating Council (AFRC).
AFRC ratings for whole windows (combined performance of glazing and frame) are required by the
Building Code of Australia, Volume One (Section J2), Volume Two (Section 3.12.2) and by the BCA Glazing Calculator. In 2010 we will provide AFRC-compliant training in the use of these approved tools, for the certification of windows, glazed doors and some skylight types. NFRC technical procedures are used for
determining U-factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, Visible Transmittance and Condensation Resistance of windows, glazed doors and some skylight types.
